Working to serve and promote Gosport's diverse voluntary sector.

GVA is at the heart of the community with its volunteer services Gosport Voluntary Action (GVA) is the council of Voluntary Services for the Gosport district. It is an independent voluntary organisation supporting the development of the voluntary and community sector locally. It is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, governed by a board of management (Trustee Directors) elected by its members. GVA's membership is drawn from voluntary and community groups across the Gosport area.

GVA is a member of the National Association of Councils for Voluntary Service (NACVS) and works closely with other CVSs across Hampshire.

GVA provides support, advice, information and practical help to voluntary and community organisations in the Borough. We recruit and train volunteers, develop new services and foster self-help groups to meet changing needs in the community. It is our priority to give these organisations, and the people we all seek to serve, a voice at a local, regional and national level.

We also provide services directly to the community; citizen advocacy, domestic assistance, activity group, disability information centre, transport, gardening and handy-person services. We are able to provide these services because of the time and commitment given to us by volunteers, together with the financial support of Gosport Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and many gifts and donations.

To be able to serve more people in a more holistic way helping them to lead a better quality of life

To be able to help, in some way, everyone who asks for our support
To have in the long term more finance with a broader funding base
