GVA is a local charity with a wide membership of voluntary and community groups, which we support through a range of services, including volunteer recruitment, transport, funding advice, equipment loan and community development.
Our Community Development Team (CDT) provides support, advice, information and practical help to groups in Gosport, to help them get started, or help them move forward with new ideas and projects.
The Community Development Team works alongside a variety of local agencies and groups, including:
- Gosport Borough Council
- Housing Associations
- Community Associations
- Local Churches and Faith Group
The CDT works with groups to identify training needs and to deliver appropriate learning opportunities through Harbourside Training.
Harbourside is a consortium of three Councils of Voluntary Action, providing training on a range of topics to volunteers, charity trustees and members of voluntary organisations.
They offer half or one day sessions at a low cost. Their latest programme can be found at: www.farehamaction.org.uk/training3.htm
